2004 AAUP-CO LEGISLATIVE SURVEY
The following questionnaire was mailed to all Republican, Democrat, Libertarian, and Green Party candidates for State Senate and State House races listed on the Secretary of State's web site. Those who did not even respond have been marked "NR"; those who did not answer individual questions, or who responded with a statement on why they do not answer questionnaires, are marked "NA".
Candidate Questionnaire
This questionnaire has been put together by the
American Association of University Professors, Colorado State Conference, for the purpose of identifying the positions on Higher Education of candidates in the 2004 General Election. The results will be published on our web site
(www.aaup-co.org) for access and education of faculty, students, and parents who are concerned about Higher Education in Colorado.
Please answer the following questions and return by
October 1st in the enclosed envelope. Questionnaires not returned will be reported as NR (No Response).
- Do you believe all graduating high school seniors that are residents of Colorado should have access to quality higher education?

- Will you work to reverse the trend in our institutions of higher education which has resulted in 60% of our faculty members being part-time, and many without benefits?

- Will you protect the quality of education in Colorado by protecting the academic freedom of our faculty members?

- Will you help keep Colorado's universities and colleges competitive on the national market for top faculty by supporting faculty tenure and competitive salaries?
